My name is Ansaf Kareem. I’m a first-generation American who grew up in Oregon.
I’ve had a circuitous path to my current role as a venture capitlaist. I’ve worked as a management consultant to some of the largest companies and governments in the world at McKinsey & Company, I had the opportunity to serve as a policy advisor on a U.S. Senate campaign, and work in product for a successful early stage startup that was acquired by Salesforce for nearly $400M. Most recently, I’ve been a partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners focused on leading early stage investments.

Technology is the fastest change agent in our world, and I am fortunate to invest behind the most compelling entrepreneurs looking to harness this power to shape our future.
I occasionally write about topics primarily in tech here.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending time with organizations that I believe are making the world a better place. I currently serve on the board of the SF-Marin Food Bank and the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy and Research (SIEPR). My wife and I also started a fellowship at Stanford University for students looking to work in public service.
Lastly, I enjoy scratching my policy interests by being a member of the Council of Foreign Relations, Young Leaders Circle at Milken Institute, and Global Shapers at World Economic Forum.
